Picture Tag

Do I always have to break the rules?
These are the rules...

*Go to the document settings/my pictures on your computer
*Choose your 6th file

*Choose your 6th picture

*Blog about it

*Tag 6 more people!

but it doesn't work for me since I have Windows Vista (I'm so cool. I know. Whatever.)
So I had to go about this a little differently but the effect is basically the same.
I was tagged by Marci.

Funny thing, this was taken March 2nd 2008. So close to a year ago. It was an attempt at a family picture. Using the timer on our camera. It worked pretty well. It is fitting since we are looking toward our #3 baby and I just shipped my two babies off to Idaho with their Grandparents for a week of Fabulous Fun. Neither of them had any problems saying goodbye. Zurich got up this morning patted his suit case and grabbed the handle (too heavy so he abandoned it). They were both ready to go. Olea has been counting down the days. In the past year we've all had hair cuts. ok, Gary has had more than I like to keep track of and Olea and I had at least two. Zurich had one. Zurich can crawl, walk, run, jump etc. and Olea can almost tie her shoes. She almost knows how to draw all her ABCs and numbers. Gary and I still don't know how to get to bed before 11pm. We've all made a font from our handwriting, except Zurich.

And for the tag, if you've done it before... and don't want to do the same picture, don't. Do the seventh of the seventh folder or something, break the rules. Enjoy.
I tag Camie, Angie, Janell, Aimee, Gina, Erin/Stan(whoever is in charge of the blog these days).

because I was chosen

on facebook... I was tagged a few times, so since I bothered to type it... Here it is.

1. My hair is typically long, it’s been that way all my life, but every 4 years or so I chop it all off, donate it and try it short for a while. Yes, my hair was long when I got married.
2. I hate calling people on the phone, even people I love dearly. The only three people I have no problem calling are my mom, one of my sisters and my husband. Everyone else I have to work myself up to get on the phone and call.
3. I had cats growing up (outside) but recently decided, I rather don’t like them. Pretty much most animals I don’t like.
4. I have milked a cow. Frequently. Grew up doing so, gathering eggs from chickens and skimming milk and making butter.
5. I am afraid of heights.
6. I love photo editing and sometimes do it just for fun.
7. Most of the things hanging in my house/ or used as decor I have made or contributed to in some fashion.
8. I like scissors. A lot. Don’t laugh, they are sharp.
9. I don’t like sea food, crustacean or steak. So Gary was really excited when he got an elk and I LOVE the elk steak. Too bad there isn’t more on the animal.
10. I can tat, crochet, knit and sew, and love to do it all. Can’t say I’m a pro at most of it, but I can figure out a project.
11. I have an associate’s degree and a bachelor’s degree. I still suck at Scrabble.
12. I like to write poetry.
13. I love Reese’s. Pieces are my favorite, but I love all the varieties.
14. Gary is my favorite contradiction.
15. I ran track in high school and was on the varsity team since my freshman year. I also went to state every year and placed my senior year, all the while with what I thought was my asthma getting worse. After high school I plain couldn’t run, barely walk without having problems. After being married for two years or so I finally told a doctor to shove it and refer me because I was sure it was my thyroid. I had a total thyroidectomy which included a large tumor that was blocking my airway. I can now run again, and breathe, and swallow and stuff. It’s good.
16. I don’t see myself as an outgoing person.
17. I always have a project, or seven going.
18. I like to do pottery and just got an outlet wired up for my kiln.
19. I want to be able to do wedding invitations for a paying client.
20. I love having a library so near by. People complain about how small it is etc, but I just love that it’s there.
21. A week after meeting Gary I knew I was going to marry him.
22. I really like the computer.
23. I prefer mechanical pencils when writing, and real pencils when drawing.
24. I don’t like digital clocks. I prefer analog, I understand time better visually.
25. I love wheat bread. I would say it is my favorite food. People tell me, “that’s not a food.” It’s not? I’ve been eating it for years! I make my bread, and RARELY buy it.

Quirky Me

Tagged by Gina...

The Rules:
Link the Person who Tagged you.
Mention rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know.

NuMbeR 1. I hate to make decisions that involve other people. I can handle it though, as a mom and wife, I have to do this quite often, but I much prefer to discuss it with someone first and let them make the final call. I have the worst time with it though when my thyroid levels are off. Like they have been the past weeks. I am rendered almost completely useless, it's like suddenly I don't have an opinion, or my opinion is so strong I don't see reason, because I am so agitated.

nUmbEr 2. I rarely pay full price for clothes. I can't justifty it. I don't like shopping for this reason, and it's hard to do clothes shopping with two kids. It comes down to the decisions thing again, unless it's totally good deal, I can't make the decision. I often end up leaving a store with out anything because I'm just not sure it's worth it.

NumBEr 3. I have too many hobbies. I blogged about this a while back. I love to learn new skills and feel lots of success at being good at so many things. But then I have a lot of unfinished projects... currently: a painting (which my mom loves, but I don't think is done yet), a comfort cloth I am crocheting for my baby boy, tatting a bookmark for a friend who lent me the dreaded Twilight series, designing business cards for my little brother (this, I actually won't let go undone for long because it is business, I get it done asap.), a half done card for my cousin who got married a.... CRAP! a month ago. blogging, etc etc.

NUmBeR 4. I am easily distracted. I can't help super-multitasking. I love computer time, checking email, designing, blogging, photo editing, and usually get on and get a lot done, but rarely what I sat down to do. For instance I sat down to dump pictures off my camera and I still have yet to push the little button to start the trasfer.

nuMBeR 5. I enjoy, or feel the need to organize. To keep a record of pretty much everything. I keep a detailed health record, and journal for my kids. I like to label my pictures before burning a cd, though sometimes I don't get to it. I always feel the need. This kind of organizing and journaling/ record keeping is one and the same for me,

NuMbEr 6. I bite my nails. I have stopped many times in my life. Only to get in a project or a book and concentrating on something and feel a snaggy nail and oops it's gone, long gone. The state of my concentration can be seen often in my fingernails.

p.s. While writing this blog I got three other things done. Checked my email, finished designing business cards, emailed final files, emptied my camera and read a few blogs, cleaned a DVD and entertained my baby... ok that was more than three... supermultitasking. Now, it's time for lunch.

I tag Angie J, Kristol, Morgan, Joanie, Erin, Marci.

Read this on Morgan's blog, it's a good one.... Here are my blanks filled in.

I am... an artist, and a poet, I am ready to admit that and deal with people's opinions.
I think... most when I am going to sleep.
I know... God loves me, that He listens and cares.
I want... time to slow to my thinking speed, my ability speed, and my enjoyment speed.
I have... joy.
I wish... medical bills would disappear and that I could stop creating them.
I hate... people who like to make babies but who don't take the time to love and raise them. And unalterable past, like forgetting an appointment, or reformatting a back up drive... that I needed.
I miss... my husband when he is gone.
I fear.... falling, heights,
I feel... whimsical and light.
I hear... worse than I wish I could.
I smell... my baby and my husband.
I search... for gratitude at each day's close.
I wonder... what my children will face, and what they will choose.
I regret... original womanhood, chivalry, and the loss of world virtue.
I love... my Gary and when I can make him laugh.
I care... about taking time to enjoy life, to watch it in it's splendor, to remember the blessing it is.
I always... stay up too late.
I am not... unwilling.
I believe... that all things work out in the end... I just have to work it to the end.
I dance... with my kids, or with my husband in the kitchen and I remember that I am exactly where I want to be.
I sing... when it strikes me, usually when I am alone.
I don't always... exercise, but I try.
I write... journals in many forms, for my kids, for myself, for my marriage, for reference, for fun, for gratitude.
I win... when I wake up every morning and re-decide to be in love, to be happy, to be a mommy, to live, and to be married.
I lose... track of time.
I never... want to be complacent or loose my "poetry" again.
I listen... for baby coos and 4 year old crashes, and the garage door.
I'm scared of... my husband dying young, having to raise kids by myself, and being unable to do the things I love most.
I read... mostly teen fiction and children's books.
I am happy about... my life as it is now, and every day.

Picture tag

I don't really get this tag, but I was tagged by Gina, because she tagged anyone who has kids. I claim two most days. It is at least a week old too.

1. Toilet
{I don't normally take pictures of my toilet...}
2. Laundry
{now why would you want a picture of my laundry?}

3. Kitchen sink
{I try to keep an empty sink, it's peace of mind and a pineapple can for bacon grease}

4. Closet
{It's almost legal bedroom size}

5. Refrigerator
{decorated by Olea and life, I like leftovers, less cooking for lunches, and my roomies from college will appreciate the large jug of Salsa middle shelf in the back}

6. Favorite pair of shoes
{I guess these two are my fave since they have a permanent home next to the front door, rather than my closet like the rest of my shoes}

7. Favorite Room
{ah we now have a king bed with memory foam top, soooo nice, yes our bed still sits directly on the floor until I make the bed frame I desire, nothing else will do, our bedroom is large shaped kinda like an L so you can't see most of it in the pic }

8. What your children are doing right now
{Olea is emptying her ark piggy bank and Zurich is trying to get the pennies}

I tag anyone who cares to do it.

Memory Lane

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (Coretta or Gary)

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
EVERYBODY PLAY! (which means I tag everyone) I want to see what memories you have!!
