Easter Chicks

I found a pattern a few years back and knitted a few Easter Egg chicks. I had one when I was growing up that was "mine" that I got to find during the family hunt. If you found someone else's, you just left it there for them to find. It usually held a Big egg. And we all know bigger eggs mean more treats. So I wanted my kids to have one too. Here is the collection so far. I decided to knit more for giving and the like. I'm kind attached to them all at the moment. The kids really like playing with them too.

  1. What a cool idea! Adds that much more excitment to the hunt and of course, the sentimental value is priceless.

    Thanks for linking up today.

  2. We had those too! Oh, totally brought me back, we loved them

  3. my grandma had these! i LOVED them as a kid.
    you are amazing.
i think i should stop reading your blog because i compare my weaknesses, like sewing, knitting, crafting in general.... to what is obviously one of your great strengths! you are so creative!

  4. Cute Cute CUTE! I can crochet a straight line. Yes, I do feel pretty proud of myself.

  5. Nice work, those look like a carbon copy of ours back in the day. I still remember mine. It looked like another one (same color), except my chicken had a floppy neck.

  6. Cim, I know, I remember the floppy necks. I hoped to avoid such a thing, and this pattern did. The necks are good enough to keep the heads up!
